St Dunstan’s Mayfield Parish Church
St Dunstan’s, Mayfield was founded in 960 AD by St Dunstan, who was then Archbishop of Canterbury. Believed to be originally a wooden church it was replaced by a stone structure, in the twelfth century, by the Normans.

From the time of its foundation in 1863, St Leonards-Mayfield Scool has continued to develop the site formerly occupied by the Palace of Mayfield.
Restoration of the ruined Palace was completed and a new red-brick school building had been constructed by 1897. The concert hall was added by 1930 and is regularly used for School events and by other local groups including the Mayfield Festival.
Festival events to be held at this venue in 2012 are:
- Thursday 10th May at 1.00 pm: Lunchtime Concert
- Thursday 10th May at 7.30 pm: Sir Thomas Allen
- Friday 11th May at 7.30 pm: Jazz Evening

The Chapel at St Leonards-Mayfield School
St Leonards-Mayfield School was founded on the site of the Old Palace of Mayfield, which served as a residence for the Archbishop of Canterbury during the 14th & 15th centuries.
Following the Reformation, the Palace was occupied as a private residence, until the mid 18th century when it was abandoned and fell into ruins with the decline of the Sussex iron industry.

St Thomas of Canterbury Church can be found a short distance from the centre of the town on Station Road. The church is of fairly modern construction but has a large well tended lawn and gardens surrounding it. St Thomas of Canterbury Church holds regular religious services and also works within the community and stages a number of summer events in the church grounds for the local community to enjoy.
